The Allen-Bradley 1771-OFE2 is an analog output module with individually isolated channels. This module is part of the 1771 product launch and has four output channels capable of providing 4-20 mA output current. It occupies one slot in a 1771 I/O chassis. The digital resolution of this module is 12-bit binary. In addition, this module can be used to send signals to measuring, receiving, and recording elements such as signal isolators, signal converters, panel meters, data loggers, and other similar equipment.
The 1771-OFE2 can be installed in any 1771 I/O chassis. It can be used as a local and remote I/O module for PLC 5 controllers. It occupies a slot in the chassis and uses the 1771-WC field wiring arm. The isolation voltage of each channel is rated at 850 VDC for 1 second, and the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) has a settling time of up to 0.8 ms. The backplane current draw is 1.50 amps, the power consumption is 7.9 watts, the heat dissipation is 26.9 BTU/hr, and the maximum adjacent slot power dissipation is 10 watts. When connecting output devices to the channels of this analog output module, use 12 gauge stranded or solid wire with 3/64 inch or 1.2 mm insulation. Belden 8761 cable is recommended. When installing into the chassis, ensure the module keying is set to 10 and 12 / 26 and 28. Tighten wire ends to 7-9 lbs/inch. For diagnostic purposes, it performs a self-test on start up. If a fault occurs, the red fault LED is illuminated and the green power status LED remains off.
