   5466-318 is a MicroNet TMR kernel PS module developed by Woodward. It receives 24 VDC from the MicroNet power supply. This input voltage is expertly regulated to provide a reliable and stable 5V DC output and an excellent 10A current capability. This 5V DC output is distributed to power all critical kernel section components and modules, allowing them to function optimally and provide excellent responsiveness. It plays an important role in generating the 5V DC pre-charge voltage. This pre-charge voltage is essential for a safe and controlled starting sequence. Gradual energizing of various components during the initial startup phase protects the system against potential surges and instability, improving overall reliability and safety.

Function
   The design of separate kernel power modules for each kernel section provides superior fault tolerance for MicroNet TMR control systems. If one section of the kernel experiences a problem or power outage, other sections of the kernel can continue to operate independently, maintaining overall system functionality and protecting critical processes.
   Kernel power module redundancy and accuracy are essential to maintaining the high availability and robustness of MicroNet TMR control systems. This state-of-the-art architecture ensures continuous, uninterrupted operation even in the event of unexpected power failures, ensuring safety-critical applications such as nuclear power plants, aerospace systems and a variety of other mission-critical industries.
   Each kernel power supply has an LED that indicates the status of the kernel power supply.
Each subframe (kernel) requires the kernel power supply to be installed in the first module slot on the left. After the kernel power supply, the next module slot to the right should be dedicated to installing the kernel CPU module. This sequential arrangement ensures precise and efficient subframe configuration, enabling seamless operation and optimal performance.

   The 5466-318 module designed by Woodward Inc for the MicroNet Digital Control series is designed as a triple modular redundant (TMR) kernel power supply (P.S.) module. Once installed, this module will be used as one of three kernel power supplies by applications running on MicroNet TMR systems. When installed, this module is inserted into the first slot of the kernel section. Note that all modules in the MicroNet TMR kernel power supply must be removed before removing such a module.

   The physical construction of the 5466-318 module is metallic with only one LED on the front panel of the module. The module's front panel LEDs are used to indicate the power status of the device. This module operates on 24 volt DC power from the MicroNet power supply. After receiving power from the MicroNet main power supply, it is regulated to 10 A or 5 VDC for the rest of the kernel section.
