IS215UCVGH1A Fuctional Description
IS215UCVGH1A is a VME controller single slot board manufactured and designed by General Electric Company, as a part of Mark VI series used in Speedtronic control system of General Electric Company.
UCVG is a one-socket motherboard equipped with Intel ultra-low voltage Celeron 650 MHz processor, 128 MB flash memory and 128 MB SDRAM.
Two 10baset/100basetx(rj-45 connector) Ethernet ports provide connection.
The first Ethernet on UCVG allows connection to UDH for configuration and peer-to-peer communication.
The second Ethernet on UCVG is used for a separate IP logical subnet and can be used in Modbus or private EGD network.
Configure the second Ethernet port from the toolbox.
Every time the rack is powered on, the controller verifies the configuration of the toolbox against the existing hardware.
Innovative series controllers are hosted on 6U high, single-socket or double-socket single-board computers (SBC).
The controller is installed in Versa Modular Europe (VME) rack and communicates with I/O board through VME bus.
Some cards also support local I/O in the form of PCI mezzanine card (PMC) daughter board.
The controller operating system (OS) is QNX, which is a real-time multi-task operating system and is specially used for high-speed and reliable industrial APP applications.
The controller uses the control system toolbox (toolbox) to load the software specific to the APP application. Three communication ports provide the following links for operators and engineering interfaces:
Ethernet connection for communication with HMI and other control devices.
RS-232C connection with COM1 port for initial setting.RS-232C connection. It is used to communicate with distributed control systems (DCS) such as Modbus slave stations through COM2 port.
The controller is loaded with software specific to its application to steam, gas, and land-marine aeroderivative (LM), or balance of plant (BOP) products.
It can execute up to 100,000 rungs or blocks per second, assuming a typical collection of average size blocks.
An external clock interrupt permits the controller to synchronize to the clock on the VCMI communication board to within ± 100 microseconds.
External data is transferred to and from the control system database (CSDB) in the controller over the VME bus by the VCMI communication board. In a simplex system, the data consists of the process inputs and outputs from the I/O boards.
In a TMR system, the data consists of the voted inputs from the input boards, singular inputs from simplex boards, computed outputs to be voted by the output hardware, and the internal state values that must be exchanged between the controllers.
